It is a wonderful turnaround in my life that happened to me after I met Dr. Goel
I am 83 years old and have been on several high blood pressure pills for a long time. Couple of years ago I started having fainting spells. I would suddenly pass out and fall anywhere without any warning and hurt myself. It became so frequent that I became nearly miserable and could hardly leave my house. My daughter who lives with me really had it rough. My Doctors tried everything they could to help me but all failed and I kept on falling and hurting myself. One day, I was brought to Beaumont emergency room after I fainted. Dr. Goel was consulted to see me and give an opinion. He reviewed my history, all the tests I had and my medications. In his opinion, I was fainting due to my blood pressure pills suddenly dropping my blood pressure. I was between rock and the hard place. If I stopped my medications, blood pressure would be very high and if I took them I would pass out. Dr. Goel suggested implantation of a pacemaker proactively and then change my blood pressure medications.
I had the pacemaker implanted by Dr. Goel in January 2007 with no problems. I had some up and down days after surgery but what a relief? No more passing out. Instead of 10 pills a day, I only took four now.
I wanted to go on vacation to Florida with my daughters few months after the pacemaker. I was so worried about passing out. Everything went well and I didn’t need a wheelchair.
It’s been about 18 months since pacemaker and I feel like a new person. I can feel myself getting stronger and stronger. It is a wonderful turnaround in my life that happened to me after I met Dr. Goel. In my opinion Dr. Goel is an excellent cardiologist and rhythm specialist whose knowledge, experience and innovative thinking brought me out of a desperate situation. He is a very compassionate physician who sits down and spends time to answer all my questions.
